When the Flowers Bloom

Does a flower ever count its petals?
Does a flower ever remark at its own beauty
Taking just a moment to study every intricate detail that makes it fascinating?
Does a flower ever find solace in carelessly dancing in the wind?
Often waving to us as we pass by.
Or does a flower lament with each passing season, as they watch themselves wilt away.
From their perspective it may seem as though the world is against the flower.
Only given a short time to express their excitement in their surroundings and revel in the beauty of spring.
Does a flower spend its time constantly studying the area it has sprouted in, as each passing day becomes a reminder of the time it has left?
Does a flower weep at its own loss or even silently curse the sun as it provides less and less sunlight as winter approaches?
Or could it be possible that a flower knows that the harsh conditions of later seasons aren't suitable for its own growth.
Maybe during its absence a flower comes to terms with its own change.
Realizing that during its dormancy it has the chance to become something even more remarkable.
And so through its optimism a flower silently keeps to itself, preserves its nutrients and waits for the day it is able to grow again.
For a flower understands that although the sun may not shine today, it can shine twice as bright tomorrow.
